Magical Journeys to South Africa

In 2012 as part of a newsletter inviting participants to join us on a safari through the Okavango Delta, I described a previous experience there when I truly felt that I was gazing on a Garden of Eden. I stood looking out on a scene of unparalleled natural life, beauty, and diversity while magnificent Little Bee-eaters flew around me, their wings stroking my shirt as they passed. This remains one of the most magical moments of my life.
After several other highly rated safaris to other parts of Africa, Carol and I have decided that it is time for us to return to the Okavango in 2017, and in addition to the Safari, to add a visit to another of the world's greatest natural wonders --- the Victoria Falls. We will stay in the Victoria Falls Hotel, without question one of the most beautifully situated hotels on the planet and one of the great hotels of the early twentieth century, a hotel still operating with the grace of an earlier age and yet modern efficiency.
A sunset cruise on the mile-wide Zambezi above the falls will complete a day that will be soaked into your memories by the mist and thunder of these magnificent cataracts.
The Garden of Eden that is the Okavango is a river delta that, rather than flowing into an ocean, flows into the sea-of-sand that is the Kalahari. In this region of transit between lush tropical vegetation and wide open spaces of sand, an unmatched abundance and variety of wild life lives in an unspoiled region of African bush and water. There is truly no equivalent place on Earth.
We will enter Botswana by road and then a short flight will take us to the first of our camps. During our extended safari of nine nights in the Okavango, we will stay in three beautiful, private luxury tented camps each located in a special concession and each offering game sights and sounds different from the other. Between these camps we will fly in chartered aircraft to ensure that we make the best use of our time.
To make sure that we are able to 'see' what there is to see and where to see it, and learn about what it is that we are seeing, two outstanding private game guides, each with their expert camp driver and tracker will accompany each vehicle of 6 guests. Their knowledge and skills are amazing and have been greatly appreciated by those who have been fortunate enough to accompany us on previous journeys. We travel in two private vehicles to ensure that everyone has an excellent view.
The twelve-night Journey begins at Victoria Falls on the 25th January 2017 and ends in Maun, Botswana, on the 5th February 2017. Five Botswana flights on chartered aircraft and all other transport costs and park entrance fees are included. Specially equipped vehicles, accommodation in luxury tented camps, all gourmet safari meals, teas, drinks and laundry are included in the cost. At the Victoria Falls Hotel breakfast is included. The cost of the program for this ultimate Journey of a Lifetime is $14,000 per person, shared accommodation.
Magical Journey in Southern Africa Since 1998
After several years in which we conducted tours to South Africa and Eastern Botswana, in 2012 we conducted a Safari to Gorongoro, the Serengeti and the Gorilllas in Rwanda.
In 2013, we conducted a Safari which started out at the Victoria Falls in Zambia and then went on to the Okavango region of Botswana.
Both these Safaris were exceptional by any standard. It seemed that our groups had exceptional 'Bush Karma' in that in both cases, we participated in experiences that even those who have lived their lives in these regions have not had the privilege of experiencing.
We are pleased to share that the Namibian Journey in November 2014 had also completed with all participants enthusiastic about their unique experience—an exceptional safari and a very special opportunity for avid photographers to glory in the exceptional light and colours that Namibia offers. We traveled from Bush into desert areas to see the desert rhino, along the coast to view seal colonies, out to sea to sail with dolphins and onto the world's largest sand dunes. Damaraland is a photographers dream with rugged desert terrain reflecting light and colours unmatched anywhere.
In 2017, we took a Magical Journey to VICTORIA FALLS & OKAVANGO DELTA, which was like no other!
